Meet with FNAU in Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro welcomes the 5th World Urban Forum (WUF) next March 22-26. The idea of providing such a place for exchanges about the urban practices was initiated at the beginning of this century by the United Nations through UN-Habitat.
Every two years, the WUF invites thenational governments, local authorities, NGO’s and experts from all over the world to discuss about the challenges of urbanization. WUF intends to favour exchanges of experiences between the cities and to share the best practices regard to the urbanization.
After Nairobi (2002), Barcelona (2004), Vancouver (2006) and Nanjing (2008), WUF 5 in Rio de Janeiro will focus over the topic « The Right to the City - Bridging the Urban Divide ».
