At date, some 1,500 people work into the 51 agencies of the FNAU network, of which 85% professionals.

Some 50% of these have a graduate studies diploma . They are geographers or architects-planners (32% of the whole) , but also economists, engineers, sociologists, experts in GIS & computer graphics design, etc.

FNAU develops many activities associating the agencies together, mainly through the clubs and the studies driven for such or such national body. It is also the usual meeting place of the network, where the directors of the agencies meet all together every month. FNAU also acts as a lobby in order to promote the role of the public urban planning agencies in France.
