        Le Havre 2008 meeting (Oct.22-24)
             AS AN OPEN SEA FEVER  
    The city and its larger-scale territories


 The 29th Annual Meeting of the FNAU network is now under preparation,
the next important step being the one-day meeting of the Steering Committee next April 4 at IAURIF / Paris.
Cities have progressively grown and widened their area of influence.
They became thus urban or metropolitan areas, and they now set up various new relationships with some other territories, within their region, beyond its limits, even sometimes abroad. They develop economic, social and cultural links at the world-scale with other places which may be geographically far but "fonctionnally" and culturally very close from them.
The 2008 Meeting will focus over these larger-scale territories of the City, in terms of sustainable planning, of economic and urban attractiveness, and of social and political governance...

The central topic of the 28th Annual Meeting of the FNAU network held on Oct.8 – 10, 2007, in Toulouse  was “The city under negotiation” : the Meeting gave a wide opportunity to discuss the various ways to “make the city” today, particularly with reference to the dialogue, the negotiation and the partnership.

The main topic of the 27th Annual meeting of the FNAU network, held on  November 15-16, 2006,  in Dunkerque was "CREACITÉ - Creative and innovative cities : Ways for the territorial innovation".
